It is the World Meteorological Day (WMD) on 23 March. The theme for WMD in 2007 is “Polar meteorology: understanding global impacts”. In order to celebrate the WMD and improve the understanding of the public to the meteorological services, from this Friday to Sunday (23-25 March 2007), the National Meteorological Center, National Satellite Meteorological Center, National Climate Center, Chinese Academy of Meteorological Sciences and Huafeng Group will be open to the public. The open time is from 0930am to 1600pm. Meanwhile, the Exhibition Hall of Meteorological Science and Technology in China and Exhibition of Polar Meteorological Pictures will be open from 1400pm to 1600pm for the future one month.
The visitors may realize the information of China’s meteorological satellite, weather forecast services, studies on climate change, equipment for meteorological emergency, investigation of polar meteorology and how to produce the TV program of weather forecast. The students and citizens are welcomed to attend the activities organized by CMA.
