On December 28, 2006. Dr. Li Qingquan, Deputy Director of Division of Climate System and made a report on “Application of GPS radio occultation data in improving regional analyses of water vapor and temperature over tropical oceans”in BCC .
During his report, he showed through simulation and case study that the use of the latest GPS data, contribute to improving the model simulation of temperature, wet farm structure, and reduced moisture deviation in lower troposphere, so that to make the hurricane origin (predict by mesoscale model) to be closer to observations. All the participants joined the discussion and exchange on his report.
