Dr. Qin Dahe, Administrator of CMA, introduced recently that China Government will invest in expediting six national-level magnitude engineering projects during the Eleventh-five-year period, and will actively boost auxiliary project to meet the necessitous need of local economic development.

      1. To implement monitoring, warning and urgent response engineering on meteorological disasters, to establish warning and forecast system on all kinds of disasters;

      2. To boost the first-period engineering of climate change countermeasure, to enhance capability building for integrated assessment of climate change impact and operational services of countermeasure;

      3. To increase the building of airborne cloud-water resource engineering, to realize the utilization of airborne cloud-water resource in the key regions, river basins and key economy developing areas;

      4. To accomplish 158 sets of new generation of weather radar;  

      5. To continuously implement meteorological satellite engineering, to increase the development of meteorological system with national property right, to realize the goal of “twin satellites operating”;

      6. To implement the building of Beijing Center of Super Computer Application (BCSCA), to realize sharing new national high-level technology resources and improving the calculation capability of BCSCA.
