Laboratory for Climate Studies (LCS) is the key laboratory of China Meteorological Administration, which was found in January 1995 by the State Council of the People's Republic of China. As supported by National Climate Center, LCS has established a high degree and capable research team composed of young scientists and employed some national and international noted scientists as visiting researchers with open and cooperative management.
For the goal of “innovation, development, and prosperity”, LCS runs under the rules of “open, exchange, and cooperate”. A large number of outstanding experts and scholars in LCS have made a series of breakthrough achievements in climate system studies, which play an important role in many global climate research programs and provide powerful support to the modernization of meteorological services, development of national social-economy and global climate change and environmental issues. In 2016, LCS was awarded as the excellent laboratory in China Meteorological Administration.
